Google coming out with two new Android phones:

SAN FRANCISCO: Google revealed Thursday that it has two new sophisticatedAndroid smartphones in the works, one of which will have the unprecedented distinction of being made in the United States.

An HTC One smartphone customized to be "Google's take on Android" will make its US debut on June 26 at a price of $599, the head of Android, Chrome and Google Apps said at an AllThingsD conference in California.

"It's a great device," Google executive Sundar Pichai said during an on-stage interview.

Google Edition handsets by Taiwan-based HTC will be compatible with carriers AT&T and T-Mobile.

Pichai made the disclosure a day after Motorola Mobility head Dennis Woodside said on the same stage that the company's was preparing to release its first smartphone since being bought by Google.

The smartphone would be called Moto X and be made in a facility near Fort Worth, Texas, Woodside said.

"It is the first smartphone that is going to be built in the United States," Woodside said, noting that the plant would employ about 2,000 people by August.
"We think that it is going to allow us to innovate and iterate that much faster."
Components for Motorola smartphones will come from Taiwan, South Korea, the United States and elsewhere with about 70 percent of the assembly done in Texas, Woodside said.
Moto X would set itself apart from other smartphones with advanced use of sensors such as gyroscopes and accelerometers to make devices adapt to the conditions or circumstances in which they are being used, Woodside said. "It knows it is in my pocket or out of my pocket, and can anticipate use cases so it knows when I may want to take a picture and fires up the camera," Woodside said, declining to show the smartphone on stage.
"Imagine you are in the car," he continued. "The device will know, whether on or off, it is driving at 60 MPH (96 kilometers per hour) and it will act differently."
Google makes its Android operating system for mobile devices available free to electronics manufacturers.
The company completed its $12.5 billion purchase of the Motorola unit -- which makes smartphones and other devices -- a year ago, eyeing both its mobile phone line, which uses Google's Android platform, and some 17,000 valuable patents.

Motorola Mobility was created in 2011 when US-based Motorola Inc split the company into a mobile devices unit and a government and public safety division known as Motorola Solutions.

The iPhone 6 release date is believed to be mid-2014, according to analysts.

iPhone 6 Speculated Release Date and Features Update: Apple to Beat Android's Market Share With iPhone 5S and 6:

The iPhone 6 release date is believed to be mid-2014, according to analysts.

The rumor mill for Apple's next-generation smartphone has been churning without rest, and speculations - and some fantasies - of its features have fascinated the iPhone fans, while the California-based tech giant has not yet confirmed any detail on the device.
The much-fantasized gadget will be released in June 2014, according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, via The Financial Post.
Apple is now preparing the supply chain for the iPhone 6, and its development and manufacture will take at least two or three quarters, says Misek.
The analyst predicts a larger screen, new colors and a faster processor, as well as “a mobile payment platform using third-party clearing and Passbook as the base,” fingerprint scanning technology, near-field communication (NFC) and barcode reading capability.
Ahead of the iPhone 6 release, Apple is expected to roll out the iPhone 5S model sometime this year, and the two models together will help the tech giant surpass its contender Android's market share by 2015, new data suggest.
91 % of current iPhone users reportedly plan to purchase the next-generation iPhone once eligible for an upgrade, a recent survey conducted by Yankee Group points out.
Among the Android users, on the other hand, just 76 % plan to upgrade for another Android smartphone.
"Think of the Apple and Android ecosystems as two buckets of water. New smartphone buyers- mostly upgrading feature phone owners- fall like rain into the two big buckets about equally, with a smaller number falling into Windows Phone and BlackBerry buckets," the Yankee Group states.
"However, the Android bucket leaks badly, losing about one in five of all the owners put into it."
The much-awaited iPhone 5S and 6 may put Apple under greater pressure than ever, as the latest release, the iPhone 5, was the most radical change ever for Apple's smartphone.
The 5th generation of the iPhone features a thinner and longer body, a 4-inch display with an 8MP iSight camera and a new earphone, and is the lightest design ever.
Though Apple's stock recently dropped close to the $400 mark, the upcoming iPhone's are expected to boost its share.

Concept Joggle Smartphone:

Mobile phones must be more flexible, cheaper and more durable. Czech designer Ilya Tkach has come up with concept a Smartphone  called the “Joggle” that encloses all electronics within an elastic material to fill the free space. The resilient material not only makes the Smartphone resistant to scratches and damages but also turns it into a waterproof device. Removing all brittle parts, such as glass, the Joggle uses electronics based on films to resist bumps or impacts.
Moreover, such materials can be recycled with ease to reduce the electronic waste piling up in bulk all across the world. Since the futuristic Smartphone sans all brittle parts, it can be kept in your back pocket, thanks to the flexible materials, without worrying about scratches or damages. New information technology Concept Joggle Smartphone
